Hi. I recently updated to the new VLC. Sadly I've seen some few bugs (they've been reported after the crash and here in the forum as well) but this is something new i've noticed.
It seems like any type of Subtitle will do anything it pleases even if you change the "Text Render" preferences. This can get annoying in some subtitles. For example the Closed Captions.
I've recorded footage from my DVR before (I get a .m2t format) and in previous 2.0.X versions, It has showed the CC without any black background since I have it set like that on the preferences. Sadly that's not the case on the new 2.1.0. Anything I do to the preferences won't help me get rid of the annoying black background which can get annoying. I know they're Closed Captions but I like viewing them without an annoying big black background and with white font with a bit of shadow (I have this set on my HD DVR as well).
Please try to get this "feature" back as it's annoying. It works for things like .ASS, .SSA, blu-ray,dvd subs but not on CC subs. Thanks
EDIT: It also appears that VLC gets a bit slow when turning the Closed Captions on an 720p .m2t video file. This never happened with the 2.0.X versions. It also seems to use more CPU usage than 2.0.X.
