Broadcasting to Windows Media Player

I am attempting to stream a video file with VideoLan to my local IP (127.0.0.1:8080) using the HTTP option, and using Windows Media Player 10 as a reciever.
When I attempt to Open URL with WMP as http://127.0.0.1:8080, the player aborts with the error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player may not support the filetype or might not support the codec used to compress the file."

The origin file is in MPEG-2 format, and all other streaming options were left at default. Which output options are the best choice for WMP, or is there a way to stream UDP to the player?

You must encapsulate your stream in a ASF format...
