No Video or Sound with .ts files

Postby Starb7 » 29 Sep 2013 16:14

Hi All

Have had a good scout around the forum and found no answer to my problem so wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction?

I am running W7 Pro x64 with 16GB RAM, 2TB HD and GeForce GTX470. All SP applied and all other apps and graphics seem to work fine. I can play regular videos and music via WMP but wanted to play some .ts files from my Humax HDR Fox T2 (Freeview) and was advised this app would do it without extra codecs, etc.

Installed the x86 version (couldn't find an x64 installer) and left the defaults enabled. Installed and rebooted (just in case) and tried to open a file both directly from the Humax and one a copied locally. I have run WMP Classic on Vista x86 directly from the Humax and these played fine so I know the recording should work OK.

Basically what happens is I run VLC, open a file and it appears to be doing something but I get no Video or Audio or error messages! It show the title of the video I am playing on the title bar but after a few seconds, it goes and reverts to 'VLC media player". Nothing have played and no error messages.

1. Should I be running the x64 version
2. Do I need to install any extra codecs (I'm told VLC has it all included)
3. Are there any checks I can do to test the compatibility (my CPU is SSE 1, 2 and 3 compat)

Any help or suggestions would be welcome.

TIA

Paul

EDIT: Found the 'Messages' panel and get these:

main error: option sub-delay does not exist
qt4 error: Unable to find filter module "subsdelay".

Does this help to try and resolve the problem? Loses me!

Uploaded file and here's the log message:

Hmm, going on the lack of responses I guess VLC Player doesn't work on W7 x64 for .ts files but thanks to anyone who took a look. Cheers.

Humax files are special.
