2.1 font rendering with low res videos

Postby escruting » 27 Sep 2013 22:09

Hi, since a year or so, vlc rendered the fonts (all the text the player shows inside the video space) with my screen resolution even if the video was low resolution. With 2.1 this has changed and is working like 2+ years in the past, it displays pixelated fonts if the video is not my screen resolution.

Am i doing something wrong? is there an option that got changed or something?

Thanks.

Check that you use the Direct3D output and try going fullscreen and back.

So now i have to go full screen and back EVERY time i watch a video? I don't think it should be this way...There's something wrong with 2.1, it was working perfect in 2.0.8.

Yes, it works if i go fullscreen. But have to do it in every video.

Is this a problem with my computer or a vlc problem? Will a fix come in a future update?

Thanks.

VLC problem. Unmaximize and remaximize or just a bit resize should fix it too.

I know, sorry if i thought the vlc devs would fix this little bug...

A lot of people around the world uses VLC to watch tv shows or anime with subtitles, thats why i thought this issue would have higher priority, sorry again :?

Maybe it's harder than expected. Maybe there are bigger bugs. Maybe there are not enough developers...
