Output Video to Black Magic Decklink in VLC 2.1?

Output Video to Black Magic Decklink in VLC 2.1?

Postby Robingshore » 26 Sep 2013 22:15

Just downloaded VLC version 2.1 and noticed the following line in the changelog:
New output for Decklink Blackmagic cards
This feature is also listed on the release page.

This got me pretty excited as I've been waiting for this to happen for a while, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to get this working. I've been hunting through menus and preference pages for a while but I can't seem to find anything pertaing to Blackmagic Decklink cards. I would really like to have VLC play video through my Decklink Intensity Pro card. Is this possible?

I see. Any chance of this feature coming to Windows and OSX sometime in the near future?

I use Windows 7 successfully with VLC to open 4 streaming video in 4 independent outputs through the NVS510 NVidia card and 4 HDMI to SDI converters.
I could use VLC on the DeckLink Quad card to have the same SDI outputs without using converters? VLC supports the Declink cards? Windows or Linux?

Copy 'libdecklinkoutput_plugin.dll' to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\plugins\video_output; it only works with 32-bit VLC.
