Endless conversion of a DVD-with-menu into a MP4 file

Postby quetzalcoatl » 06 Sep 2013 19:48

Hello,

I try to convert a DVD into a MP4 file using VLC 2.0.8.
There is a menu at the beginning of the DVD, allowing to choose between 3 chapters. At the end of a chapter, you come back to the menu.
I launched a conversion but it seems it blocked at once, probably in the menu, waiting for a choice to be done.
I eventually discovered a way forward in the VLC conversion menu options to begin the conversion at the first chapter.
But now the conversion gets blocked at the end of first chapter, probably when coming back to the menu, waiting for a choice to be done.
When I try to read the file with Windows media, it tells me that the file is currently in use.
I then forced VLC to stop and rebooted Windows, and I got an heavy MP4 file which is unreadable.
Any idea ?

I would appreciate any help on this topis.

Thanks by advance

Regards

Well, well, finally, it's so simple! You just need to tick "no menu" box! :?
I wish I thought about it earlier
