How to copy part of a mediafile, creating a new file?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

How to copy part of a mediafile, creating a new file?

Postby Surstromming » 28 Aug 2013 18:02

I have gone through help/search, but found no answer. I suspect I have not used the right words in searching, english not being my own language.

Is it possible in the vlc media player to copy part of a media file into its own file? Like, from minute two to minute five, of a two hour long file.

If so, how to?

thank you very much/Rolf

Media > Convert / Save... or Stream...
[v] Show more options
Edit Options [ :file-caching=300 :start-time=120 :stop-time=300]
...
