History of recently played media.

Example: I listen to large playlists on random so when a new track starts there's no way for me to check what the previous track was.

A list of the previous 5-10 tracks would be really nice.

Hmm, that list isn't updating for me at all. I cleared it and opened up ~5 more files and it still didn't update.

Preferences are stored in vlcrc right? I previously tried renaming that file so a new one would be created with all defaults but it didn't fix it.

I just now clicked "reset preferences" from the tools -> preferences menu and it didn't fix it either. The 'media' -> 'open recent media' button is still greyed out.

Greyed out means there is nothing in there. Open with Ctrl+O and you will see it.

Ok, opening with ctrl+O did it. So basically that just confirms that list is not what I'm requesting in my first post. The list seems fairly useless since most people probably click on a file or playlist or add a folder(s) to the playlist and in all these cases vlc doesn't remember anything. If this list (or a new one) could include everything that has been played with VLC, including the previous tracks that were played in my playlist that would be fantastic!
