play 5.1 surround sound wav & dts audio file in iphone

i like to know if you can use vlc to play the 5.1 surround sound wav file and dts audio files in iphone...
if yes, can you tell how can it be done in iphone?...

You could, but VLC is currently not available for iOS.

you could download vlc for both iphone & ipad in the app store ... i tried with ipad to load the dts file but the dts file is not shown up in the ipad vlc file list ... only the video files are shown up in the file list...
any comment how it can be done in either iphone or ipad...

True indeed, the original version of VLC for iOS, which used to be available on the App Store, does recognize movie files only and ignores audio-only media.

So, unless, you want to change its code, this won't work. Sorry.

the desktop version vlc can recognize and play dts 5.1 wav audio files ... but the ipad version can only play movie files but not the dts 5.1 wav audio files...
is there any plan to upgrade the ipad/iphone vlc version so it can play dts 5.1 wav audio files?...
why there is NO update for the ipad/iphone vlc version for quite long? ... you also can not download the vlc ipad/iphone version from the app store now...
please advise for any update...

There is no way for you to upgrade the app for audio-only playback. However, this will be part of the next update among various other features.
VLC for iOS is being developed in my spare time. Your code contributions would help to speed-up the development process
