Subtitles fonts are messed up

Postby bulbul » 26 Apr 2013 21:44

I have an .ass sub file I want to use with an episode I have, but to use the .ass file I had to extract it from a lower quality episode. In the lower quality episode the fonts were like so (http://www.image-upload.net/di/MT0A/good.jpg), but when I used mkvextract to get the subtitles and then used it with my episode, I got this result (http://www.image-upload.net/di/JLA6/bad.jpg).
At first I thought something was wrong with the extraction so I just did it again and it still failed. I then tried to use the extracted subtitles with the lower quality episode in order to see if I still get bad results, but it worked fine when I did it.

Here is a download for the .ass file itself:

If there is anything else I can provide in order to help you solve my problem please tell me. I am really eager to solve this already as this problem occupies me for a long time.

He means you should create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with your messages log and the links to your file and to this thread.

I would do it if I thought the problem was with the VLC media player but I don't. I believe the subtitles themselves are the issue and so something must be messed up when extracting them from the videos.
Please help me find out where the problem is and fix it.
