VideoNewbie: Split "multi layered" AVI into 2 separate files

VideoNewbie: Split "multi layered" AVI into 2 separate files

Postby squirreljr98 » 03 Jul 2013 16:56

Good day!

I have received a single AVI file from a 3rd party containing 2 "feeds" created by 2 separate cameras. For example, a view of the driver and a view of the road. However, when using VLC Media Player to view I am only able to consistently view the "driver" feed. I can confirm that there are indeed 2 "feeds" because ONE time I was able to view the "road" feed. Does VLC Media Player have the tools to be able to control which "feed" I can view. And, does VLC Media Player have the tools to be able to split the single AVI file into 2 separate files, one containing the driver (audio and video) and the road (audio and video)?

Thank you for your time!

Cheers!

Does VLC sees 2 video tracks in the menu?

Only "video.avi" in the playlist after a drag & drop of the AVI file.

While the Video is playing, Disable/Track1/Track2 are available under Menu->Video->VideoTrack, with Track2 checked, will not switch to Track1.

Using OSX 10.6.8, VLC 2.0.7 Twoflower (Intel 64bit)
