Hi All,
I've been trying to learn how to compile a version with AAC for streaming.. Spent about 3 days so far doing research and trying things and FFMpeg.. I saw the "Compile FAQ" but seem to be lacking step by step directions of where to get the AAC codecs for being able to use the internal LIVEHTTP HLS Media Segmenter to generate M3U8 files.
If anyone could assist with providing some instructions on how to install the AAC encoder so I can transcode to AAC for my .ts files that would be huge! Really appreciate your time.

AAC encoder should be built-in.
