menus partially in a cyrillic

Postby fcitino » 02 Sep 2005 22:42

I have vlc 8.0.2 running on osx 10.4.2 and when I run it, the menus are paritially in what i believe is Russian. Any ideas on how to make it all be in one language? The Mac itself is set to English.

1. Press apple+comma for Preferences (?????????).

2. Open the "Interface" menu on the left.

3. Choose "General."

4. Change "????" (language) from "????" (auto) to "American" or whatever it is you want to replace the Russian.

Not sure the Cyrillic worked in the last message, so "language" kind of looks like "R3bIK" with a backwords "R," and "auto" looks like "ABTO" (it might also be "Russian," "PYCCKNN" with both "N"s reversed and a half-moon over the second one).

Clearer?

Additionally, you should check your International-settings in the global OSX-preferences, and move "Russian" downwards the list to prevent apps from using this locale.
