I recently tried playing thebroken episode 1 (available at thebroken.org), which is a DivX video, on my PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X Tiger and VLC 0.8.2. The video plays fine, however, there is a very annoying issue with sound. If I pause the video, the sound doesn't stop immediately, instead, it continues for a few seconds after the video is paused before stopping. If you press play, the audio starts playing a few seconds after the video starts playing.
Most annoying of all, though, is this: If you fast forward in the video, the sound completely goes away until you restart VLC. This annoys me immensely as there is a part in the middle of this video that I like.
This problem doesn't occur with thebroken episodes 2 or 3 or with episode 1 on MPlayer OSX or QuickTime with the DivX OS X codec. I don't know if it happens on Windows or Linux, since I don't use VLC on those platforms. However, VLC plays everything else correctly, while these other players do not, hence my frustration.
Any suggestions? Could an issue be opened for this?
