Can't play .pls

Hi, I'm trying to play a .pls file using VLC Media Player (I believe the format is supported, it's shown under the file associations), however I simply can't get it to play =/ I've tried different things, like saving the .pls file and opening it manually from the player, typing in the url in 'Open Network Stream', opening the file directly from the site etc. But none are working, the player opens, the file is listed, but nothing is playing. I've checked FAQS, the Wiki, and the forums, and can't really find a solution. Can someone please help?

P.S. Running Windows 7 64 bit, and using the latest 2.06 version of VLC
