Audio is faster than video.

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Audio is faster than video.

The title pretty much sums it up. Only for a select few video files (.avi). I'm not sure what other information is necessary to resolve this issue. Any ideas? I don't tamper with the settings much, just a few to reduce audio stutter and lag.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts and then post the link to the file here.

Cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

30 MB max should be enough.

The resulting log is too long for pastebin even. I tried usign the DGsplit, but it could not read the input file.

Compress the log with ZIP or RAR or 7zip and upload it.
Upload the cut of the file as well.

I've uploaded the log (RME133LOG.rar) to the videolan upload link you've given me, but the video file can't be read by DGsplit, so I can't even cut it.

DGsplit doesn't read the video, it's just a basic binary cutter so it will create a file.
But it seems the file name is using unicode characters, maybe the reason why DGsplit may fail to open the file, so we really need a sample anyway. ZIP it or RAR it as well so it will keep the characters set.

If DGSplit can't open the file, won't I be unable to split it? Or do you mean to zip the actual video file itself?

Yes, that's what I mean.

Sorry for taking so long, I've uploaded the video to the VLC upload link.

Looks like I can't find your file. Please try again and post the name of your file here.
