media_file (mpeg) streamming out using command line

Postby mson77 » 09 Sep 2005 01:45

Hi,

I have a Fedora Core 4 box in text mode only with "vlc-0.8.2-0.lvn.3.4" installed.
In this linux FC4 I have a file: test.mpeg and I want to stream out this file to be watched in some player in another computer in my internal LAN.

I need the command line to acomplish this in FC4 server. I want to use http.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
mson77

There are several solutions to your problem, and the best one depends on your hardware and what you precisely want.

Please refer to the nice Streaming howto http://www.videolan.org/doc/
