Some Noob questions :-)

Postby englishmen » 06 Sep 2005 12:25

Hi all im new to Vlc and i have a few questions i hope you guys and gals can help with.

1* Is there a way to save a playlist with in VLC rather then saving a m3u file on my HD?

2* Is there a way i can set Vlc so when i add music to it will arrange them by track number by default?

3* Is there a way to view the playlist box within Vlc so it does not open another window?

4* Is there a way for VLC to display the song title & artist rather then the address of the song while playing?

Thanks in advanced for all and or any help you can provide.

1: not yet It's on the very long todo list
2: no. VLC doesn't know about track numbers. it's a Video player first, a music player 2nd. Use a music player if you wanna order your mp3.
3: a thousand ppl, a thousand different wishes when it comes to this
4: not currently, but it is being worked on.

If you want excellent free quality stuff 8) :

as videoplayer:afcourse VideoLanClient.
as audioplayer:FooBar2000
you can get FooBar here:
http://www.foobar2000.org/foobar2000_special.exe

and if you've a high quality soundcard, don't forget to select in foobar as output:"Kernel streaming"
that's why foobar sounds so good on high end audiocards. It don't use directx with 16bit sound.(when selecting kernelstream as output), and yes i assume you've a 24bit card, if you've a 16bit card something like QCD-player or winamp is fine.
