With neither a sample file nor a stack trace, it's unlikely that anyone will be able to provide any useful insight.

In any case, your digital signal seems to be badly damaged. This is probably the indirect cause of the crash.

it could be a signal problem on some channels but even channels with good signal crash but it works longer..

is there maybe a script that i can do to stop stream and start let say always at 04:00..

There is a possibly related fix in VLC 2.0.6 for MPEG-TS.

VLC 2.0.6 is not released, but you can get it from the source repo or nightly builds.

Well obviously if you stick to the buggy version 2.0.5, the crash won't go away.

Hello @pk21x,

You can install nightly build by adding VLC repository to Ubuntu (if you have 12.04/12.10/13.04):
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/04/vlc- ... -bug-fixes

I'm having same problem with sat channels, as well, a lot of "00 motion_type" errors and "ac-tex damaged" errors.

I guess it's the input stream's quality plus VLC's mpeg2 decoder not working well. After a while I notice video/audio gets out of sync.

I plan to use ffmpeg and bypass VLC altogether for this type of job. Maybe that could help you somewhat...
