Hi all,
I am really, really, really hoping someone will be kind enough to hold my hand through this thing I'm trying to do, as I've spent the last couple of weeks in frustration trying to do it on my own, and I just can't figure it out. I'm technically proficient with computers, and I know what streaming/transcoding etc are, but I've never had to play around with these kinds of technologies, so I am well and truly lost
Our small community radio station has an IP network camera (an Axis M1013). We want to broadcast the RTSP stream from the camera 24/7 on our website, using a method that people can view it on our website without having to download additional software. That apparently means using a flash-based service such as UStream or LiveStream.
I have VLC on a PC on our LAN. I want to use VLC to take the RTSP stream from the camera, and then convert it to flash or RTMP or whatever is required for broadcasting the feed on UStream. Once I have the feed working on UStream, I know how to embed the UStream feed on our website.
Can anyone help me, step by step, not just by saying "oh that's easy, you just need to do X" (since I likely don't know how to do X), and tell me how to accomplish this?
