Problems Saving a Playlist

Postby superlisaj » 29 Nov 2012 23:40

Hello,

I am having some trouble saving the playlist. I will put everything in the proper order and save it. No matter what I do, next time I open it, the files are all out of order. I assume it is because the title format is different. Is there anyway to get it to actually save in the order I create? I have tried creating the playlist and then closing VLC and a few other things but nothing. No matter what, every time I save, the files are out of order. Do I need to go back and format every title so it is in alphabetical/numerical order? (I also tried doing a playlist with all the files in one folder and also in their separate folders by season, and either way it doesn't save properly.)

I am a bit frustrated as I have 5 seasons of a show I have on one playlist and every time I go to play it, I have to reorder it.

I just tested this problem, and the order is perfect in both VLC 2.0.1 and VLC 2.1.0 nightly (Dec 7 build).

Hey ! Don't feel bad..at least you HAVE your files..even if they're out of order ! In my case...Twice I had a playlist..shut down the computer. Both times my playlist was gone ! Evaporated! MIA ! They did not go back to the Media Library. They did not go back to the file (My Videos) in Windows where they were stored.
VLC sent me here to post a question..about two weeks ago (today is March 1st) I just went to check it."It does not exist.". Who runs this show? This HAS to be the most obtuse, confusing, and most restrictingly difficult site in the Free World. Now, I'm missing my about two dozen of my favorite videos, and my post asking for help in finding out what happened to them. But, I believe I've found ....The V L C Gulag . This is where they send independent thinking programmer developers who, despite their vast intelligence, always manage to press the 'wrong button'; program writers who insist on taking unsuspecting users on 4-day cyber-rides to nowhere, and janitors who "overheard too much". And they all are forced to work here ! Poor devils! No wonder we never get an answer.

Sure; where are your patches then?

For the record, VLC on desktop does NOT delete any files on the filesystem automatically.
