video, but no sound

im using VLC on Ubuntu
and it plays video but no sound!
:/ i can't get it work
i play audio files in other programs
so i don't get it :/
help ?

try installing vlc-plugin-esd

i installed esd plugin but still no sound for MOV files...

can u tell me how I can acitave that plugin ?
