VLC crashes HTC One XL with .ts files in landscape

Hi,

I have the HTC One XL. I have a Humax Foxsat PVR that records .ts files and previously I have used VLC player to play these .ts files on an old Samsung Galaxy S i9000, they all worked a treat (thanks very much to the hard work people have done to get that to work). I have now got my new phone (HTC One XL) and I have tried the VLC player with the same .ts files, although they do work they only appear to do so in portrait mode. When I flip it to landscape it crashes the app and the phone (reboots after about 10 seconds), I have also noticed that it crashes if used in Hardware mode.
