Hi there
How do I use skins? I downloaded one, and unziped it, then loaded vlc:
vlc -I skins2

There was no change in the interface whatsover. Any ideas?

I did, but when I goto the preferences with CTRL+S, there is no place to select a skin..

Sounds like you compiled VLC without wxwindows/wxwidgets support, which provide the dialogs for the skins.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
