I have a ASUS EEE Pad transformer prime TF201tablet with Android 4.1.1 installed.
I live in the US.
When I try to install from Google, I get the message "Not available in your country."

I've been able to use the latest nightly build to view mp4 files on my ASUS TF700T running Android 4.1.1. However, I am having trouble viewing iso files. Video output appears, but no sound. Also, VLC seems to skip by the initial menu content. VLC on my desktop opens these files just fine.
I opening these files on my ASUS via a network share. The files reside on my PC which is shared to my ASUS and mounted as a local drive to my sdcard.
Any thoughts? Is this a known issue? I really think VLC is fantastic. I just need to get over this last remaining hurdle.
Thanks in advance.

ISO support is not yet implemented in VLC for Android, I think.

VLC does play it, just with no sound and without the ability to process the menu at the front.
As far as the sound issue goes, it looks like it's not unique to VLC. I unzipped the contents of the ISO file, then opened it with Daroon Player and encountered no sound as well, except the menus did work. If we could get this to work I wouldn't have to rip my videos to MP4. I could just keep them as is on my host and view them using either my host or ASUS.
VLC for PC plays ISOs just fine.

Hi there. I am looking forward to testing vlc on android, and I am curious about which file I should download. I am using an Att galaxy s3 with the snapdragon s4 chip, and android version 4.2.1. It looks like most are being directed to the armV7 version, but I wanted to make sure. Thank you.

I'd like to try this out, but the Play store thinks that my Phone is not compatible.
I have an HTC Droid Incredible that is rooted and running Android 4.1.1

Will any build work on my phone?

I will give those a try. The Google TV ones are the ones I would really like to see. The stock players on them all have a little bit to desire.

Because there is no NDK...

Well, to be more precise, there is an NDK, but it is not compatible with the runtime on the Google TV devices, as it was modified by Google.

Hi there. Avid user of VLC for windows for a very long time. Would love to be able to test the android app out on my new phone. I have an LG Optimus G with Sprint so Model Number LG-LS970. Runs Android 4.0.4 with a Qualcom Snapdragon S4 processor. From gsmarena: CPU-Qualcomm APQ8064, GPU-Adreno 320 I cannot access the app through the android market and wasn't sure which nightly version to download. Point me in the right direction and I'll be happy to help! :D
