Incorrect Media Title/ Title Bar

Postby Simillarian » 14 Nov 2012 08:48

I had to change the file name for .mkv files because the original person who ripped it got the titles wrong. Ever since then, the incorrect title is still being displayed in the media title during the beginning of playback, and in the title bar.

I try to change it by going into the playlist, right clicking the file, and selecting information. Which doesn't work.

Does anybody know how I can fix this?

VLC use the name inside the file; so unless you remux your file (with mkvmerge for example), you can't change that.

And is it possible to see filename and metadata (program name) together? "$ - $Z" or "$t - $Z" don't work on VLC 2.0.8.
