[Solved] nook hd+

Postby aBigMeanie » 08 Dec 2012 05:19

i side load apps, it's not rooted but most apps work if i can find the apk.

the device has a 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 4470 CPU with a PowerVR SGX545 GPU.

none of the nightly builds will run. the arm7 neon will play video(sort of - really badly) if it's loaded from another app.

vplayer has no problem playing 1080p video as long as it doesn't have dts audio. vlc neon nightly will play mkv with dts audio(working) but the video skips and stays static for seconds at a time.

is there a version of vlc that might work?

thanks for the links. for the time being i am using the side load method.

the nightly arm7 neon from 12-9 i just tried doesn't work at all. all i get trying to start it is "unfortunately, VLC has stopped"'

if i select a video to play with it i get the same error message, BUT the audio plays in the background as if the movie is playing, until the "OK" button is tapped then the audio stops.

vlc is in the list of running apps using task manager.

other video players still work like vplayer.

For the "VLC has stopped" error, can you try to get the stacktrace so that we can debug it? http://wiki.videolan.org/Android_Report_bugs

i have the dec 9 nightly logcat crash file, but it's a half a megabyte of text. do you want it copy/pasted here or is there a way to attach it as a file?

i tried again with the dec 10 nightly but it doesn't write a crash or dump file.

i tried to upload the crash dump to pastebin but it must be too big. here's a copy in a skydrive.

[edit]crap guess code doesn't work here. the file.

The problem should be fixed in the latest nightly build, could you please try it and see if it works?

it works! nice turning on hardware acceleration in the settings allows it to play high bitrate 1080p mkv's with dts audio over a wifi networked nas. woohoo!

excellent work, thanks for the program!!!
