Unfortunately I have the same problem.
Choppy playback, like skipping frames, and false information on the frame rates.

the strange thing is that in another NTSC DVD that I played, it didn't do it (although still a false frame rate).
But I'm trying to watch another that i have in my hard drive and there is a problem.
That DVD specifically is not faulty since it plays perfectly fine in other players.
But i wanted to use VLC for the closed captions option..

edit: just installed 2.0.4 and the same problem persists (I had 2.03)
I'm installing now 1.05 to see if it fixes it as it was said, and I'll report back.

edit2: Ok, problem fixed with 1.0.5! (although I have other problems now)

On VLC 2.0.4 this happens to me too.

VLC 2.0.5 is still broken when it comes to some dvd:s and mpeg2s (the same jerky motion as before).

Someone really needs to look at this. I'm seeing jerky video even when playing a VIDEO_TS folder.

Some DVDs and mpeg2s won't play without jerking. This has been a problem for years now.

Any way to give a higher priority to Ticket #4412? Progressive DVD playback is still jerky in version 2.2.4.

I cannot see any hickups in the testfile attached to the ticket (with 2.2.4 and 3.0).
