Another MRL issue ~

Postby cbarker248 » 05 Dec 2012 09:26

***I managed to post this in the wrong forums, when a MOD catches that if they could move it, I would be grateful. Sorry and Thanks ***

Hello all, registered to post on this as I've had no luck searching for answers. The few follow ups I have been able to find seem to reference firewall settings. Let me say that I do not run a firewall on my computer. It is a Windows 7, with the most recent updates.

The strange thing is I have had this error on several files, all of which I have previously viewed with VLC.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

VLC Version - 2.0.4 Twoflower

Here is the verbose message setting capture from when trying to open the file. Thanks.

Is there any reason VLC would not recognize this file now? It has opened it before without issue.

Cheers

Well, a heads up. I found a work around, I think.

I was able to open the file using the below method.

Right click, open with > Firefox.

When the popup to save/use VLC came up I chose save, and resaved the file to a new location (in this instance from my D drive to my desktop).

Newly created file on desktop is now playable. Recopy to original destination overwriting old file. All is well again.

Cheers
