Converting .mkv to .mp4 or .avi

Hi there,

I have been trying to convert a .mkv file to a .mp4 or .avi file. So far I have had no luck. I click Convert, select the file, click Convert/Save, pick the profile type, give it a destination and click Start. So far all it does is create a .ps file. Any help?
