[Solved] VLC for the Xperia Tablet S

Postby AsifP » 29 Nov 2012 13:49

Hi I'm here to report that the latest update of vlc has resulted in the player not being able to play any video on my tablet.
I've tried to play the most common avi and mp4 type files but nothing works :(

The vlc version before this one was working perfectly fine.

What happens
I play the video file with vlc and it looks as if it's going to work but the player just doesn't play the video. When I click the play icon it stays on play so maybe it's a simple bug of just not wanting to start.

Hello,

We need a logcat log to debug this. You can find out how to do that here: https://wiki.videolan.org/Android_Repor ... Logcat_log

Ok so think did it. It's my first time posting a logcat so I may have done something wrong.

Could you please try a nightly build? http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/arm ... -debug.apk

Ok so I got it working. The problem was that I was going into my own gallery choosing the video then opening it with vlc player which made the error happen.

It works by simply going into vlc player first and choosing the video from within vlc player.

Thanks man
