Main window copying video window

Postby vkd » 21 Nov 2012 14:13

Hi,

VLC media player Version 2.0.4 Twoflower (Intel 64bit) on OS X 10.8.2

I recently upgraded to the above version from 1.9.x. I have found that if I watch a video in full-screen mode, when the video finishes the Main Window of VLC Player copies the video window and fills the screen; this did not happen previously. Previously the Main Window would remain at windowed size and when the video finished it's window would close and we would see the Main Window as a smaller window on the screen, which is much more preferable. The full-screen Main Window is a little disorienting in that it is largely white and gives off a lot of light, it is not aesthetically pleasing. Also, if VLC Player was opened by dragging a video file to its icon in the dock or by associating video files with it so they can simply by clicked to open with VLC Player, then the Main Window has just the one item in its playlist. Summing up, windowed Main Window is much more preferable to full-screen. I do hope you can recode this to function as it did previously.

Thanks. Have a nice day.

In Preferences, deselect "Show video within the main window" and deselect "Use the native fullscreen mode on OS X Lion". Save and restart VLC.
