As far as I am aware; Windows 8 does not support DVD playablity, UNLESS you have Media Center also installed, if not, playing DVDs is a nogo. For the moment at least.

Code: Select all

filesystem debug: opening file `H:\Videos\Action\Eagle Eye\Eagle Eye 2008.mp4' filesystem error: failed to read (One or more parameters are invalid)
Does it work with both a folder and a file name which don't contain any spaces ?
e.g. H:\Videos\Action\Eagle\Eagle.mp4

I am able to play DVDs through other applications in Windows 8. I have not had a chance to test the other portion of the suggested fix, though. As soon as I get home I will test the directory structure suggestion and see if that fixes it.
