Couldn't see the movie on my TV

Hi,
I installed VLC on my computer and tyring to play a movie (mpeg4) on my TV and its not playing either video or audio. Is there any setting needs to be done to? Would appreciate if anyone could through a light...

Just wanna ask a question that's almost the same as above..(ps new here, but experienced with mediaprograms/configuration). I Use VLC 0.8.2 on XPsp2 machine(100% ok working)

VLC works excellent here. But one thing where of i can't find config info of it in VLC, or I overlooked it.

How can i let VLC use display2 as fullscreen video device? So that video is in window on display1 and fullscreen on display2?

p.s. sorry for grammar, I'm Dutch... and afcourse VLC is my no1 videoplayer. (use foobar2000 with kerneloutput as audioplayer).

edit:found it . In VLC preferences(advanced options on) Video > Output modules i'd win gdi video output, now back to "Default" and i got fullscreen as how nvidiadisplaysetup is.

so easyst solution could be "Reset VLC defaults and quit".
by the way i updated to vlc-win32-0.8.4-20050822-0130

I had this problem as well,

I have a GeForce 4 MX 440 (using NVIDIA drivers), i have a TV pluged into the composite video port and a CRT monitor in the CRT port.

When i placed the video on the second monitor all i got was black where the video should have been. I updated to the latest drivers. Then connect both screens to the computer and tell it to detect displays. Set the display mode to Clone, there is an option on the left that is called "Full Screen Video", by the bottom of that page there is a box with a drop-down list called "Full Screen Device" select 'Secondary Display' and apply these settings.

With the drivers set in this manner when VLC plays a video it will appear fullscreen on the second monitor no matter what size it is on the first monitor. This also fixes the problem with the video going blank when moved onto the other monitor.

Well i got it working here. as stable as ... with the 0.8.4 beta i mention before. Got also a Nvidia Mx440 chipset(but then Asus with pasive cooler, no fan) with same outputs(8xagp right?), TV composite can't get lower then pal60Hz, so i blow up(Nvidiaconfig) da image a few inch to get it ok on 50Hz tv, tv survives the extra 10Hz for 2 yrs now).
Also a very basic 4:3 pal Tv 50Hz. I Use DualView, in my case the monitor1=normal(OS)mainmonitor, and the 2nd monitor is fullscrenvideo, positive thing about DualView= that you've two different desktops(with icons/wallpaper). But this is more displaysetup- then VLC- talking.

So what about caprikar ? Is his tv working now?

Does your graphics card allow you to use both the VGA slot and the DVI/Composite slots? i can only have the following combinations:

VGA
DVI
Composite
DVI & Composite together

I will not allow me to use my VGA monitor and another slot at the same time... i had to get a converter from VGA to DVI so that i could run DVI and the composite for the tv at the same time.

For some reason the DuelView software wouldnt work on my PC.

As far as i know mine mx440 doesn't have dvi. only monitor out(svga) and tv out(composite or s-vhs). No dvi digital video connector here.
So can't help you with dvi setup. I only use svga+composite. Don't have more connections on agp card.(don't need more =) )
