The TIMER doesn't show the real lenght of the video

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use VLC to play some video I'm currently transcribing and I'm having this problem: There's no way I am able to see the REAL time. The video is 1 hour 25 mins long BUT VLC says it lasts only 3 minutes. (!!!)

The weird thing is that VLC will correctly play the video from A to Z yet it is impossible for VLC to "read" the real time / time left.

Note aside: When I play the same video on Windows Media Player it correctly reads/shows the length of the video at the timer.

Any clues?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts and then post the link to the file here.
