VLC 2.0.4 DVB-T problem

Postby FraggleRock » 05 Nov 2012 22:12

Hello All,

I'm a old VLC user for videos and TV with my Cinergy 1400 DVB-T Tuner card from Terratec.
With VLC 2.0.0 everything is fine, i use a dvb-t playlist and all channels display very well even HD channels.
Yesterday i tried 2.0.4 version just to check if it's possible to record only one channel and not all the transponder flow.

With this new version DVB-T with the same playlist is not watchable, there are 1 seond lag every 2 seconds with son and image. All videos are normal.
If i install back version 2.0.0, everything is working. I use windows 64 with VLC 32.
I have a asustek motherboad with no Asus tool installed (i mean optimization tool who causes troubles).
Reception is very good and is maximum if i believe Terratec home theater.

So i wonder if there are specials settings for this new version to be able to display correctly DVB-T broadcasts.

Do i have to modify my playlist which looks like as follow :
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,TF1 HD
#EXTVLCOPT:program=1281
dvb-t://frequency=698166000
#EXTINF:-1,TF1
#EXTVLCOPT:program=1537
dvb-t://frequency=674166000
#EXTINF:-1,France 2 HD
#EXTVLCOPT:program=1282
dvb-t://frequency=698166000
#EXTINF:-1,France 2
#EXTVLCOPT:program=257
dvb-t://frequency=690166000

Or do i have to do something else to get VLC works with my DVB-T card and my computer.

Thank for your help.

i tried 2.0.4 version just to check if it's possible to record only one channel and not all the transponder flow.
To record only the current program you need to use either the "--no-input-record-native" parameter or to go to Tools -> Preferences (Show settings = All) -> Input/Codecs then on the right panel scroll down to Advanced -> Prefer native stream recording and untick this option, then save, exit and restart VLC.

With this new version DVB-T with the same playlist is not watchable, there are 1 seond lag every 2 seconds with son and image. All videos are normal.
If i install back version 2.0.0, everything is working. I use windows 64 with VLC 32.
Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.
Do it with both VLC versions 2.0.0 and 2.0.4.

For viewing DVBT, the most stable version is 1.1.9.
Versions 1.1.10 and 1.1.11 are better and they can be used, but you need to replace "libpostproc_plugin.dll" in "plugins" by the 1.1.9 version.

DVB-T works very well with version 2.0.0 so in my case i need'nt downgrade VLC.

With version 2.0.4 it "works" but with unsupportable lags on video and sound and video is never in the right aspect ratio, often in 4:3.
Everytime i change channel i have to redefine aspect ratio.
So at the end i wonder if new version 2.0.4 is good enough to spend time on making DVB-T working ?
Nevertheless i'd like to see this new version work correctly.

Someone knows if there is a plugin to schedule records ?
