Deinterlaced produces images in wrong order

Postby inoorda » 31 Oct 2012 13:00

When turning on deinterlacing (mpg or VOB input) and choosing the deinterlace methods "Bob", "Linear", "Yadif2", Phosphor" and "Average (dutch: gemiddeld)" the top and bottom fields images are in wrong order: Forward movement of a person results in step forward, half a step back. Visible using shortcut "e" or playing at low speed.
For methods "X", "yadif" and "mix (dutch: Mengen)" the order is correct.

How can I tell the difference? If you can tell me how I can see whether movie is BFF or TFF I will let you know which one it is.
Anyway, when changing de method from e.g. "X" to "Bob" for one movie, the result turns from correct to incorrect (and vice versa).

MediaInfo should be able to tell you which interlaced mode is being used but you can also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts and then post the link to the file here.

The file is TFF. I have uploaded the file to Rapidshare. Link: https://rapidshare.com/files/512252857/ ... .mpg?bin=1
I hope this works.

Thsi file was created by Cyberlink PowerDirector v 7.00.4020 as a MPEG-2 PAL HQ (Full-D1, 8.0Mbps, 720x576, GOP-pattern BBIBBPBBPBBPBBP).
The original tmovie was created as a Hi-8 tape on a (1992) Hitachi Hi8 camcorder and transferred with a Silvercrest USB 2.0 A1 video grabber to PowerDirector, using S-video.
If you need to know more, please ask.
