Would anyone happend to have knowledge of some formal codec ( audio/video) comparisions? The web is loaded of personal opinions, but is there any with academic value? Technical or subjective opinions by pros wanted..

( I need formal comparisions due to the fact that I'm writing an academic blaah blaah paper.. )
