Media / Open recent media - It does not work.

Hi. Does anybody know what vlc media player is not storing all my recent opened media ? It was showing very old items, even on my brothers and cousins computer. So it is not a problem with my computer.
Today I tried to clear the list, and then I tried to open new videos, and I saw how it does not store my recent opened media, which is frustrating for me because I like to watch many TV series, and sometimes I can't remember what was the last episode I saw, so it would be fantastic if that option of vlc player work. (Open Recent Media) but no matter what I do, it does not want to work properly. This error is very old, I remember this option not working on very old versions of VLC player, So it seems like the VLC developers don't want to fix this fatal error.

I want to try another free player, but let's see if there is solution for this fatal error. Thanks.

First of all, Jean Baptiste it's a great job this you have done, my most sincere congratulations for building such a terrific media player, just awesome!
But of course I'm writing in this forum to make a suggestion about this bug.

Several of your users would appreciate very much if the recent media accesed by double clicking a video may function properly. I've read this thread and after reseting Preferences absolutely nothing happens , since after double-clicking any video it continues without working... it's a funny thing because it works properly when dragging. I've tested it on XP, Vista, 7

You may find it not very important, but since I'm the teacher in charge to take care og all the computers of my school and most of the people double click the files, it doesn't allow the administrators to know what kind of videos are our students watching. We've been working with VLC for years and we're always waiting for the next version to fix this problem, and of course, we do not want to go back to the miserable WMP.

Ok, I've got the .diff but I'm a little dumb and cannot figure out how is it installed.
I've seen this page http://wiki.videolan.org/Patches but I don't understand almost anything, it would be great for all the dumbs of the world to know how to do it in the simplest way, if it's possible.

Reset my preferences, this worked for VLC remember the last Open Folder... (Ctrl+F)
