Video looks HORRIBLE!

Postby acuriousman » 09 Sep 2012 21:21

Hi all!

So I recently upgraded from VLC 1.1 to the latest version (I also have an ATI graphics card). I was hoping it would fix my issue of having washed out/faded colors but it didn't. Videos look great in every other media player except for VLC.

How can this be fixed?
Thank you for reading.

Examples.
VLC on the left and MPC on the right.
RIGHT CLICK AND HIT VIEW IMAGE FOR FULL SIZE.

Try another video output module:
http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-2.0 ... _output.3F

And/or disable/enable GPU acceleration:
http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-2.0 ... age_errors

And/or adjust FFmpeg threads:
http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-2.0 ... r_laggy.29

You can also try to enable or disable some video options such as Overlay and/or Hardware YUV -> RGB conversions.

Alright, I went through every single one of those options and none helped. I even tried messing with some GPU settings and the colors still look off.

Personally it is horrible. Do not not use a version above 0.9.x on windows.
