Bookmarking Help

Postby I3ossI3ison » 16 Nov 2011 20:06

hello, i want to start off by saying thanks to the VLC team for such a great and wide open app. I have a question about bookmarking videos so that i can jump to specific spots of each video file. In order to do this, I must first pause the video, press Cntl + B to open a bookmarks manager, and then click "create" to make a new bookmark. (I then double click the text in the field so i can re-name my bookmark to what I want it called.) After my bookmark is created I have save a playlist file on my hard disk. Now, my question is this, in order to playback my bookmark I must open the bookmark/playlist file. When I do this, the bookmark/playlist file loads up my original video file from the very start. In order to access my bookmark I must right mouse click on the video, then select Playback Menu, then select Bookmarks Menu, and finally select my bookmark. Now this process does work and I am very greatful of this, my question is their a simpler process to playing back my bookmark? Can I somehow set a HOT KEY on my keyboard to boot to this bookmark? Is their a way to make the bookmark/playlist File auto-boot to the bookmark?? (<-- This would be AMAZING!)

P.S. Development team, can I request to have bookmarks programed into the playlist/bookmark file, or somehow a way for me to " Export " my bookmark into a file that does directly boot to the start time of my original video file?

Any help is greatly app, thanks everyone!

There are hotkeys for bookmarks which you can set via Tools -> Preferences (Show settings: All) Interface -> Hotkey settings

Can i post here anymore, thanks.
To me - v2.0.3 - hotkeys don't work other than ctrl+b to bookmark.
I have tried different VLC interfaces.
If you are sure hotkeys should work, please tell what should be done anymore or whether hotkeys should be programmed from the command line.

Same here, the bookmarks hotkeys are without effect... Do they work somewhere?

Why is this kept secret whether the hotkeys work or not?
