and the effects I set will only last on the video I am watching, but if I forward to a new video, say in a playlist the changes turn off. This is frustrating because I have always been very fond of the VLC Player for videos, mainly because of the ability to customize the visuals and effects, and because I get disgusted when things just change for no reason out of the blue that I have been using for years a certain way. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling VLC Player, but it did not help and the effects and filters still won't hold.... 
If anyone has any advice on why this would happen, I would be most grateful, and thanks in advance!!
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and have made no recent changes to my system at all, and this just started last night, but yesterday afternoon it was not doing this....
PLEASE, someone tell me what has happened!!
