How to view Audio and/or Video formatting of stream

Postby jcr » 05 Sep 2012 17:54

Hey folks we use VLC a lot where I work (rural telecom) to test our channel multicasts, either that we have created or that we have received from our partners. My question is this: Is there anyway to view within VLC the audio and/or video formatting of an active playing stream.

This is using VLC thru its GUI, not CLI. For example, we go to Media>Open Network>UDP>type in the multicast and UDP Port for the particular channel multicast stream>Play.

Thanks for any help offered :D

Hi
How about Tools > Codec Information

Return to “General VLC media player Troubleshooting”
