can't seek timeline of paused dvb-t stream

Postby ktopaz » 13 Aug 2012 15:50

Hi,

When I watch a live DVB-T stream in VLC and choose to "pause" the stream,
I am able to resume ("play") exactly from where i paused,
but i am unable to seek the timeline of the recorded "pause" buffer. (there is no indication on the timeline that such a buffer even exists)

With windows media center - I am able to seek the paused buffer without any problems.

is this a known bug/wad with VLC? or is it a fixable bug / technical problem with my enviorment?

Details:
Win-7 32bit, VLC 2.02 Twoflower, running DVB-T usually from a windows shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=538000000 :dvb-bandwidth=8 :program=2

DVB-T video in my country is broadcasted as MPEG-4 AVC.

Thanks for any information,
Think for yourself, question authority

It's a limitation of timeshifting in VLC. Someone would have to improve the code.
