1. A internet search couple of weeks back said to make some changes to the PREFERENCES which I did but now the Unwanted "VLC (software RGB DirectX output)" WINDOW is back.
DOES anyone know how to get rid of this troublesome window or what it is??
There is a post on this forum about this issue but the "answer" is:
Settings -> Preferences
Video -> Output modules -> DirectX (Check the Advanced options checkbox) AND
You may also want to check that video acceleration is on. Preferences --> Video the box marked "Overlay video output" should be checked.
BUT on the NEW version: VLC media player 2.0.2 Twoflower Does NOT match this release/version.
under OUTPUT MODULES there is NO just VIDEO OUTPUT but MANY choices and the closest is: "DIRECTX (DirectDraw) video output" (amoung many) BUT IT DOES NOT STOP THE LITTLE WINDOW.
2.
Windows 7 has the feature that in Windows Explorer, if you select multiple Videos FILES, then go to the menu, and hit "play selected: or just PLAY, VLC will play all in the selected.
Problem with VLC is TWO fold.
a. THE TITLE is displayed on the WINDOW but not the FILE NAME which is what Windows explorer identifies it by. And the only way to REALLY determine "which is which" is with the file which is in the Windows Explorer as sometime a TITLE is not listed but VLC finds one and you can not match the two so you can delete/move/copy/etc the video.
SOLUTION: if VLC gave us the choice of FILE NAME or TITLE on the VLC window at the top.
b. Regardless of how I select the videos to play, VLC does not play them in any recognizable order. They SEEM to be RANDOM so another way you can NOT identify what is playing.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around a great player otherwise?
