Recent media double-clicking won't work

Postby odel » 11 Jul 2012 20:32

Hellos from the newbie!

First of all, it's a great job this you have done, my most sincere congratulations for building such a terrific media player, just awesome! :D
But of course I'm writing in this forum to make a suggestion about this bug.

Several of your users would appreciate very much if the recent media accesed by double clicking a video may function properly. it's a funny thing because it works properly when dragging. I've tested it on XP, Vista, 7

You may find it not very important, but since I'm the teacher in charge to take care og all the computers of my school and most of the people double click the files, it doesn't allow the administrators to know what kind of videos are our students watching. We've been working with VLC for years and we're always waiting for the next version to fix this problem, and of course, we do not want to go back to the miserable WMP.

I know you receive lots of posts, just think that, at least, a ticket would be great.

Bye, I just like to let you know that we're all very very very happy with this program.

CONGRATULATIONS

Ok, I've got the .diff but I'm a little dumb and cannot figure out how is it installed.
I've seen this page http://wiki.videolan.org/Patches but I don't understand almost anything, it would be great for all the dumbs of the world to know how to do it in the simplest way, if it's possible.

Thank you very much indeed!

I'm looking at this http://wiki.videolan.org/Win32CompileMSYSNew and it seems almost impossible for me
Does anyone have a plain exe already patched? When it's supposed to be ready the next update of VLC? Will the next version bring this patch already?
Thanks a lot guys!

I'm looking for a fix too. Double click to blank screen and it also won't open my link to my webcam.
"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" dshow:// :dshow-vdev="USB Camera" :dshow-adev="none" :dshow-caching="200"
It seems odd to add a 8 month old patch to fix the issue. Will it fix both of my issues? I'm not sure about adding the diff file or how to do it right.

Fixed it. Found info in another thread. Just Reset preferences. Fixed both of my issues.

Hi there,
Anything new about this? Would the new version fix it?
Thanks
