crash reports won't send in VLC 2.01

Postby whiterainbow » 07 Apr 2012 13:31

Since I upgraded to VLC 2.01, it's been crashing multiple times per day. I do try to send the crash reports but it never sends, it always says that there's a network error. My network connection is fine, what could be causing this problem?

Thanks for the report. The server-side issue should be resolved now :)

Still not cured. :(

Trying to update by using the automatic download - download completes, VLC fails and crashes  error report won't submit. :x

Would be helpful if I knew where the update file was being saved so I could 'manually' update! :?

Aaarrrggghhh.

Steve.

Same here, downloading v.2.0.2 twice, won't install, VLC downloadpanel closes.
When launching VLC it states it crashed, asking to send crashreport. THen it says it can't.
After the 3rd time it successfully sent the crashreport.

Also I encountered a few times there are two VLC buttons in the tastkbar when downloading the update.
Once the file is downloaded, nothing happens. When hoovering over one of the taskbar buttons, one instance
disappears. VLC isnot upgraded though.

All in all: just download / install the update manually.

Do you have any outgoing application specific firewalls set that may be blocking traffic.

I've never had any errors when submitting the bug report from within VLC.

Whilst knowing that I shd be posting in the windows forum..

With me VLC is listed as trusted application under Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2012 under Settings->Firewall->Settings->Application Rules->Network Rules. It has permission for any network activity (in- outbound).

Hello please note that people working on the windows version don't we read this forum. So please create a new topic on the other forum so people become aware of issues with the windows-specific FTP server.
