today I installed VLC on my Xperia Arc S.
It runs but its to slowly to view some videos.
If I choose hardware acceleration it slows down again.

What was the resolution of the video files (240p? 360p? 480p? 720p?) Did you use the right build for your device? http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/android-v7-neon/

If you have time you can try to get the logcat log: http://wiki.videolan.org/Android_Report_bugs#Logcat_log

sorry for waiting so long to reply.
I installed the version you told me and the videos I tested until now ( one is a small avi-File and one is a mp4-File with a resolution of 1024 * 576 and a Bitrate of 1502 kBit/s) they run fine on my Xperia ARC S.

I will test some HD with 720px tonight when home.
