GPU acceleration erratic behavior with ATi 12.6/12.7

Postby heffeque » 01 Jul 2012 16:00

Just updated AMD/ATi drivers to 12.6 and VLC seemed to show erratic images with GPU acceleration turned on. Tried 12.7 with today's 2.0.2 and still have corrupt images.

I'm using Win7 64bits on an AMD E-450 with 8 GB of RAM (Zotac AD04)

GPU acceleration worked ok on 12.3.

Also notice that 12.6/12.7 GPU acceleration works ok on MPC-HC and flash.

It seems that 12.6/12.7 break GPU acceleration ONLY on VLC :?

I'm just informing about the problem. No need to tell me to go back to 12.3.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Worked fine in Catalyst 12.4 driver... Broken in 12.6 WHQL and 12.7 Beta.

I think it's more on VLC's end because other players work fine with hardware acceleration enabled.

Or AMD, since it was working fine in 12.4
