Help with .PART file

Postby getemboi13 » 01 Jul 2012 22:36

I've been sent a file through Skype which hasn't yet completed. It's 2 GB in size with 1.2 GB currently downloaded. The file has stopped transferring for some reason. Anyway, how can I preview the file? I did with a previous .part file that was an .avi, but this .part file is a .mov file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since a .part is a partially downloaded file, you'll first need to change the filename to end with .mov and then see if it opens. Note that some .mov files don't have important information at the head of the file so a partially downloaded file still stands a chance of not opening.

So even if I had say 1.8GB of a 2GB file, your saying that there's not enough information to play the .PART file?

It depends on the file format. Cannot say.
